Second---Read your article and annotate. As you read it, you should interact with your article! (Examples I, II, III, IV) Talk back and respond with passion. Ask critical questions as you read.(Write them down, so you won't forget!) Reread the section if you did not understand it. Look up words you do not understand. Comment on the diagrams. Think about what you are reading and how it affects your life. (You will turn in your article showing me that you did this.) (20 points) Third---Physical Science Concepts. Connect the article to physical science concepts in Giancoli. Draw diagrams of 5 basic physical science concepts to demonstrate your understanding. Start from a basic physical science concept and develop that concept toward the more complex understanding developed in the article that you read. Example look here ---> I (10 points each, 50 points) Fourth---Critical Thinking Skills Analysis. Find two specific examples in the article that demonstrate how the reader uses the first five critical thinking abilities. Explain your examples. Ideal critical thinkers (you the reader) have the ability to 1. identify the focus: the issue, question, or conclusion provided by the author. (8 pts.) 2. analyze arguments given by the author. (8 pts.) 3. ask and answer questions of clarification and/or challenge the author. (8 pts.) 4. define terms, judge definitions, and deal with equivocation provided by the author. (8 pts.) 5. identify unstated assumptions used by the author. (8 pts.) (10 different examples at 10 pts for each example, 40 total points) put it in a flat binder Fifth---Demonstrate your comprehension (not a detailed summary) and distinctive take on what you have read and learned. (10 pts) Provide relevant references from the article to Giancoli. (10 pts) . . .you can do this by using cited page references and quotes. Demonstrate your Critical Thinking Skills. (10 pts) React to, comment on, or make connections to what you read and learned in the article. (10 pts) (. . .at least, four pages, 40 points) put it in a flat binder Think about what you are writing. Do not write a sentence that does not demonstrate your understanding. Using a word processor is acceptable. Diagrams must be drawn by you, not imported. Each section should be separate from the other sections. Please be neat and organized. Points will be taken off for sloppiness---PERIOD. Order: Article, Physical Science Concepts, Critical Thinking Skills Analysis, Reaction How about putting the Final Paper into a flat binder, one that will not fall apart.
