Is it possible for the Right and the Left to find common ground?
We need solutions to many problems.
It's time for CNN, MSNBC, FOX or any network to establish Political Programs that will cater to intelligent Americans. Conservatives and Liberals do have good ideas. It is possible for a Conservative to AGREE with a Liberal on most issues. Instead of Crossfire, CNN could have Finding Common Ground. Instead of Hardball with Chris Matthews, MSNBC could have Raising our Political Awareness with Chris Matthews. Instead of Hannity and Colmes, FOX could have Issues between Friends.
We need our 24-hour news networks to bring out the best, not the worst, in Americans. Reason, logic and understanding are the qualities that mature individuals exhibit to their younger citizens. Jon Stewart, with the Daily Show, is on par with Brit Hume, Wolf Blitzer or Lester Holt. Don't get mad Jon, but this situation is backwards. Our news anchors should keep their opinions to themselves. The news is sacrosanct. Reporters NEED to report the news with as little bias as possible. Reporters should have a code of ethics that demands that they look for all views on all incidents. I ask, do you (Americans) really want your news delivered in such fashion as is currently happening? Are we so weak and frightened that we need someone to reassure us that all is ok? Or, can we handle the truth? Do we want our children to be secure in their beliefs as well as their reason? Let's strive to show our young people that mature reasonable people can disagree, but in the end, can agree on a course of action that includes all views. Let's show our children that reasonable adults can find reasonable solutions. The main goal of all mature and reasonable people is to find the best of all possible solutions. All views are important and will be respected.
